In this half, we take a more critical look at The Hunger Games trilogy. We talk about how it’s perspective is written, the relentless survival tension, and the realistic portrayal of trauma. We also discuss mixed feelings in other areas, like love-triangle fatigue, Mockingjay’s tonal whiplash, and controversial plot choices that nevertheless push things forward.
Overall, we discuss this fantastic series’ impact, what still works, where the few cracks show (kinda, it’s complicated), and how it’s managed to hold up after all these years.
